New Zealand visitor visa for a Thai partner or relative: what hosts should know
Thai citizens generally need a visitor visa for New Zealand. Hosts are often asked to provide sponsorship or accommodation evidence, and many Thai students and young travellers look at study or working holiday options.

Can a Thai citizen use an NZeTA instead of a visa?
The NZeTA is for visa-waiver nationalities and some transit passengers. Thai citizens usually need a visitor visa. Confirm the current list on the Immigration New Zealand website.
How can a host support the application?
A host can provide an invitation or a formal sponsorship form covering accommodation and costs, along with proof of their own status and finances. The applicant should still show their own ties to Thailand.
Can Thai students work while studying?
Some student visas allow limited work hours depending on the course. Conditions appear on the visa itself, so the student should read them before accepting a job.
How is the Working Holiday different from Australia's?
Both are for young adults, but eligibility, quotas and conditions differ between the two countries' agreements with Thailand. Check each scheme separately.
