Moving to Thailand with Your Family: Documents Before Arrival and in the First 90 Days

อ่านภาษาไทย (Thai version)

Relocating to Thailand with family: document sequence for the first 90 days

Family relocations stall because steps are done in the wrong order, not for lack of documents. Dependants' visas follow the main visa holder. Foreign family documents such as marriage and birth certificates are best certified before you leave. On arrival, the TM30 address notification comes first, because the certificate of residence, bank account and driving licence often rely on it. We handle visas and documents only; we do not find housing, schools or movers.

We do not publish company service prices. Ask our team for a case-specific quotation; official fees remain those announced by the authority on the filing date.

Before leaving home

Documents issued abroad are far easier to certify at source than to send back later.

  • Marriage and children's birth certificates with apostille or accepted legalisation
  • Degrees, if the work permit needs them
  • Children's school records and vaccination history, as schools request
  • Dependant Non-O visas for spouse and children, filed alongside the main visa

First two weeks in Thailand

The landlord must file TM30, but check it was done and keep the receipt; many offices ask for it.

  • Confirm TM30
  • Worker: work permit and visa extension via employer
  • Thai translation and MFA certification of family documents for dependants

Within 90 days

Everyday tasks start once visa status and address are settled.

  • Certificate of residence
  • Bank account, under each bank's criteria
  • Thai driving licence
  • First 90-day report, and a re-entry permit before any trip abroad

How we work, step by step

  1. Plan around the main visa. The worker's visa type sets the family's.
  2. Certify family documents at source. Marriage, birth and degree certificates.
  3. File dependant visas. With certified Thai translations.
  4. Confirm TM30 on move-in. Keep the receipt.
  5. First-90-day tasks. Residence certificate, bank, licence and reporting.

Questions we are asked most

Do you find housing or schools?

No. We handle visas and documents only, including papers schools or landlords request.

Can my dependant spouse work?

Only with their own work permit. A dependant visa alone does not allow work.

Do you publish prices or guarantee the outcome?

No. We quote after looking at your documents and situation, and every decision is made by the Thai authority concerned. We will tell you plainly when we think a plan is weak.
