Taiwan Visa-Free for Thai Citizens: 14 Days Until 31 July 2027 — Rules and When You Need a Visa

Thai ordinary passport holders (not diplomatic or official passports) can enter Taiwan without a visa for stays of up to 14 days under a trial programme that Taiwan's Ministry of Foreign Affairs extended from 1 August 2026 to 31 July 2027. Stays over 14 days, work, study or other non-visitor purposes require a visa from the Taipei Economic and Cultural Office in Thailand. Visa exemption does not guarantee entry; border officers can still review your documents.
We do not publish company service prices. Ask our team for a case-specific quotation; official fees remain those announced by the authority on the filing date.
Visa-free conditions
This is a trial programme that Taiwan reviews each year. The current period runs to 31 July 2027, so check the Bureau of Consular Affairs notice again before booking, especially for trips near the end date.
The 14 days include arrival and departure days. Book your return within that window; visa-free stays generally cannot be extended.
Documents to carry at the border
Officers may ask about accommodation, itinerary and funds. Keep hotel confirmations, a return ticket, a rough itinerary and a card or funds for expenses ready, and check the National Immigration Agency's online arrival card requirement before flying.
When you need a visa instead
For stays over 14 days, study, work, internships, marriage, or if you have a previous refusal or overstay, apply for the correct visa at the Taipei Economic and Cultural Office in Bangkok. We can check eligibility, prepare documents and translations, and prepare the visa application where needed, without guaranteeing the outcome.
How we work, step by step
- Check your passport. Confirm it is an ordinary passport with enough validity for the trip.
- Fit the 14-day window. Count arrival and departure days and stay within the programme end date.
- Prepare hotel and return ticket. Keep digital and printed confirmations.
- Complete the online arrival card. Check the National Immigration Agency's current requirement before departure.
- Answer border questions consistently. State your purpose, accommodation and return date truthfully.
- Apply for a visa if not eligible. Contact the Taipei Economic and Cultural Office well before travel.
